... Il fuoco può essere il migliore alleato dello scultore; l'elemento che trasforma, fonde, dipinge e rende duttile come la creta persino il più duro dei metalli.
In effetti, l'artista è capace di tendere "trappole" squisite a questo elemento primordiale, per catturare ogni sfumatura dei colori delle materie più povere, come l'argilla e il metallo, dove si celano i ricordi dei mitici meteoriti caduti dal cielo poi riaccesi nelle fucine di Vulcano.
Dominguez è abituato a "forzare" la terra con l'eccesso di calore, fino a farla implodere su se stessa per costringerla a sprigionare tutta l'esuberanza cromatica, tattile e materica nascosta nei suoi pori ...
