Il lavoro di Tetsuro Shimizu parte da una solida conoscenza del lessico dell’Informale per spingersi quasi verso una negazione dello stesso.L’artista pratica una pittura che conosce bene i suoi confronti e che riesce continuamente a mettersi in rapporto con una prospettiva di ricerca.Se la texture punta a ricavare un effetto di densità e movimento attraverso il colore, l’impianto dei lavori tende a creare una direzione di fuga e di frammen tazione dei piani di superficie, che raffredda e nega l’assunto pittorico.Accade che la stessa immedia tezza e splendida brutalità dell’ Informale, entri in conflitto con una scansione degli spazi visivi che frammentano l’unità originaria.Se la pittura gestuale possiede la caratteristica di dare rappre sentazione immediata al pensiero e all' emozione, Shimizu consapevolmente rompe l’unità di luogo e azione.In questo modo crea dei lavori concettual mente elaborati, in cui l’idea compositiva è calcolata e mai affidata alla casualità del momento.Per questi motivi il suo lavoro risulta interessante e nuovo.Lo spazio non è abbandonato al flusso che però mantiene intatta la sua pienezza e forza. Lo spazio viene rilanciato in una forma che è chiusa eppure modulabile.Le opere di Tetsuro vengono fuori dalla parete, non ne sentono più i vincoli, ma vogliono abitare lo spazio.Se i segmenti delle opere lasciano dei vuoti delle fessure, è l’idea di pittura a riempirli. Quindi l’incertezza diventa provvisoria e serve a stabilire un contatto con lo spettatore. L’artista crea uno spazio ibrido, poetico ed indefinito, in cui gli elementi dell’opera accennano ad un linguaggio comune.

The work of Tetsuro Shimizu begins with a solid knowledge of the Informal lexicon to shift almost towards a negation of the same.The artist uses a painting technique that knows its collation well and constantly enters into confrontation with a research prospective. If texture aims to create an effect of density and movement through use of colour, the structure of the works tends to take on a direction of escape and fragmentation of surfaces, which cools and denies the pictorial enterprise. The very immediacy and splendid brutality of the Informal style sometimes enters into conflict with a definition of visual spaces that splits the original unit.If gestural painting possesses the characteristic of bringing immediate representation to thought and emotion, Shimizu knowingly breaks the unit of place and action. In this way he creates conceptually elaborate works in which the composite idea is calculated and never entrusted to the casualty of the moment.This is why his work is always iteresting and new. Space is not abandoned to the flow, retaining its fullness and strength.Space is relaunched in a shape which is closed yet suitable for modulation. Tetsuro’s works leap off the wall, paying no restrictions to the wall, desiring only to fill space. If the segments of the works leave empty spaces and cracks, the idea of the painting fills them. Therefore uncertainty become temporary and makes contact with the spectator. The artist creates a hybrid, poetic and undefined space in which the elements of the work suggest a common language.
