Giovannini Andrea - 1962 - Italia Il paesaggio eserciterà sempre un fascino indiscreto sugli artisti e sugli uomini."Guardare, osservare" sono attività che liberano la mente attraverso la visione.Il paesaggio in pittura, apparentemente è innoquo come una cartolina, invece quando si osserva un dipinto,si comprende che dobbiamo guardarlo con occhi diversi. Nessuna fotografia può essere equivalente ad un quadro; e questo vuole dire che ciò che vediamo o che possiamo inquadrare in una foto, non è la stessa cosa di quello che si vede dipingendo. Mettersi davanti ad una tavola, ad una tela, prepararla e dipingere una parte del mondo che ci circonda mette in moto un diverso meccanismo di partecipazione e di conoscenza.La distanza è il tempo.Il tempo che ci vuole a dipingere un paesaggio è lo stesso che scandisce la solitudine, quella dell'artista. Le sue operesono paesaggi contemporanei, comuni con orizzonti larghissimi.Il loro fascino è in questo sconfinamento,quello che si vede, coincide con quello che si prova.Il piacere di guardare con fissità qualcosa che ha tenui confini,farsi assorbire interamente dall'atto del guardare;perfino i simboli arretrano dinanzi al paesaggio, l'infinito li assorbe.Così queste opere che Giovannini tesse con pacato lirismo, vogliono affermare qualcosa di semplice,ripristinare un piacere non del tutto dimenticato.In questo la pittura rimette in gioco una lenteur che riconcilia con le cose. Lo sguardo che si perde fa parte non solo di un immaginario poetico,ma appartiene (e può appartenere) alle cose di tutti i giorni. Landscape in painting apparently is innocuous as a postcard,however when one observes a painting it is understood that we are compelled to view with different eyes.No photograph can be equivalent to a painting.In other words,that which we see or are able to frame within a photograph, is not what we see when we paint.Positioning oneself before a trestle,in front of a canvas,preparing it and painting a part of the world which surrounds us activates a different mechanism of participation and consciousness. Distance is time.The time which is required to paint a landscape is the same which articulates solitude:that of the artist.The pieces are of common contemporary landscapes with vast horizons.Their allure is in this release,that which one sees coincides with what s/he feels.What is presented,rather,is the pleasure of focusing on something with tenuous margins,allowing oneselfto be completely absorbed by the act of viewing-seeing.Even the symbols retreat before the landscape,infinity absorbs them too.In this way Giovannini extends his works with calm lyricism:they mean to capture someting simple,refresh a pleasure not yet totally forgotten.With this painting introduces a lenteur which reconcilies with things.Losing oneself in observation is a part not only of poetic imagery,rather it belongs(and is able to belong)to that which we encounter in daily live.The artist reminds us of this with his painting through the ease and immediacy of inalienable truths.
