Irena Chrul

Works

Irena Chrul exhibited in Galleria Gagliardi from 2010 to 2011.

Irena Chrul is a committed international artist, known for her avant-gardism and her role as an ambassador for the post-modern movement, known as hyperrealism. From Berlin to Rome, from New York to Montreal, the spectrum of her talent has grown steadily over 30 years.

Inspired by her long studies of classical painting and graphics, Irena's creative practice illustrates an impressive diversity of multi-media production. Irena Chrul achieves a synthesis between conceptual thinking applied to pictorial art and her extraordinary gift for the diversity of techniques. Her work is so unique because her message is profound.

Only one form of expression exists for her : painting.Irena Chrul does not attach importance to the form, but to the universal value related to an experiment lived in a given place at a given moment. She especially works to express truth and authenticity. She does not borrow anything from anybody nor doesn't let herself being influenced by any school. She remains pure, independent and Master of her vision. Her process results in a very particular way to perceive and observe, such as a "voyeur", the reality under a different and singular angle, in aside. Her personal perception with strong surrealist tendency is caused by didascalies or her own texts which give rise to a poetic mini-scenario. The message and the expression rise essentially from her own experience, her egotism, her insecurity, her anxiety. Her prompter, her interior voice, is her subconscious.
