Ciro Palumbo exhibits in our gallery since 2012.
Palumbo's paintings become the place, or perephs I should say the not-place, of the dream, immersed in a time, marked only by the variation of light, which changes the colours and the shadows of the colonnades and bricks: defined and clear at midday, hot at sunset, cold under the lights of the night. Then in the paintings of Palumbo, there are cypress trees in the background, the sea and the stormy clouds above it, providing us spatial coordinates and familiar elements to which we can refer. If we give up looking for a recognizability, we are immersed in a silent atmosphere, inhabited by paper boats, coloureful balloons, toys, ancient Greek statues that take away islands removed from the seas, restless moons chained to the grouns by human beings. In the works of Ciro Palumbo everyone can provide his/her own interpretation and percive archetypal memories or strictly personal reminescence. Palumbo moves with wise spirit between heaven and earth, between the dream world and the tangible reality.
