LA NUOVA METAFISICA DI VITTORIO MIELE
Vittorio Miele is among the “historical” figures of painting in this territory, but this doesn’t totally define his work. Linguistically, Miele’s work defies a search for a categorical or definitive taxonomy. It suggests the human and pictorial impossibility of finding conclusive solutions to humanities’ dilemmas.Miele was an attentive witness of the human universe and he caught – with his sorrowful intuition – every trace, every thin fragment of this universe. Ten years after his death (1926-1999) we need to return and reflect on the entire experience of this artist, whose human and artistic austerity was a distinctive character of his soulful poetics. Therefore, this retrospective exhibition permits us to reassess Miele’s expressiveness and, at the same time, to “give back” to the City of Frosinone a never forgotten fragment of its recent history.The exhibition – planned in an anthological format and not as “circumscribed journey” – must be considered as an historical principle of the place. It involves the place, redraws the borders of the imagination, and proposes again this place as epicentre of an historical judgement. The exhibition suggests an expositive journey that proceeds from the works of the ‘50s throughout the irreplaceable experiences of the ‘70s.The paintings seem to announce the epilogue of a complex experience, made up of ruptures and precarious landfalls of an unplanned reality.This encounter with Vittorio Miele is an outstanding moment of of contemplation and knowledge for the entire community.
